Every building on the block changes what the four lots around it are worth. A park earns nothing at all and doubles everything beside it. A night club prints money and guts the flats next door. A plant earns a fortune and poisons all four of its neighbours — so it goes in a corner, or in a quarter of its own.

And the block is finite. Once every lot is taken, the only way up is to bulldoze what you already built.

How to play

• Knock on doors for your first $45, then put up a walk-up.
• Pick a building and every empty lot shows exactly what it would add to the block's rent. The green one is the best lot you have.
• Drag across lots to build a whole row. Hold UPGRADE to buy it over and over.
• Buy the next lot, then the air rights, then redevelop the block for permits — +30% rent, forever.
